San Andreas Lake, Millbrae, CA.

This is a reservoir which lies on top of the San Andreas Fault. There is a paved path which crosses the top of the dam and smack in the middle of the dam there is a marker explaining the fault ("during the 1906 San Francisco earthquake, the west side of the fault moved northwestward nine feet") and that the marker itself is sitting exactly over the fault. Of all the things to build directly on top of the San Andreas Fault, a dam seems like an odd choice to me.
