One of the more interesting things I saw in Churchill was a tranquilized polar bear being delivered to the local holding facility. The locals do not want the bears in town and so the ones that get too close are captured, held here until the ice forms and then released on the ice. Of course, Churchill was built literally across the bears' natural migratory route along the coast of the Hudson Bay, so the bears do tend to get too close to the town...
